Poison

It made me sick
On bed rest that day
Couldn't get out of bed
News said there was an outbreak
I didn't listen
I ate it anyway
And paid the price for it
Suffered heavily for it
Thought I was beyond situation
I was wrong
It almost killed me
So stupid and stubborn
On the bed I remembered
Back to a time
When they told me to leave this woman alone
I didn't listen
Thought I was bigger than the situation
She made me fall hard
Food poisoning made me sick to my stomach
She made me sick in my heart
Both gave me nausea
And I suffered heavily for it
I was wrong
It almost killed me
So stupid and stubborn
Never again
